Sign In to Track ProgressCheck Tyre Pressures
CriticalCheck all tyre pressures including the spare. Use manufacturer's recommended pressures — not base vehicle figures.
Check Leisure Battery Voltage
HighTest the leisure battery voltage at rest. Should read 12.6V–12.8V fully charged. Charge if below 12.4V.
Test CO & Smoke Alarms
CriticalTest the carbon monoxide alarm and smoke alarm using the test button. CO alarms must respond within 30 seconds.
Lubricate Cassette Toilet Seal
MediumApply Thetford or Dometic-approved seal lubricant to the blade seal. Work the blade 10–15 times to distribute.
Sanitise Fresh Water System
HighAdd sterilising solution to the water tank, run through all taps, leave 30 minutes, then flush thoroughly.
Check & Lubricate Awning
MediumInspect awning fabric for tears or mould. Lubricate arm pivot points and winding mechanism with silicone spray.
Inspect Exterior Sealant
HighCheck all exterior sealant joints around windows, roof lights, door frames, and roof equipment for cracks or gaps.
Annual Habitation Check
CriticalPro RequiredFull professional habitation check covering gas safety, electrical safety, damp, and all habitation systems.
Truma/Alde Boiler Service
CriticalClean the burner, inspect the heat exchanger, check the circulation pump, and test all safety devices.
Replace Inline Water Filter
HighReplace the Whale or Shurflo inline water filter cartridge. A blocked filter causes pump overheating and failure.
Reproof Awning Fabric
MediumApply Nikwax or similar DWR reproofing spray to the awning fabric after cleaning. Restores water resistance.
Check Tyre Age & Condition
CriticalCheck the DOT date code on all tyres. Replace caravan tyres at 5 years, motorhome tyres at 7 years maximum.
Full Battery Capacity Test
HighPerform a full charge/discharge cycle to test actual battery capacity. Replace if capacity is below 70% of rated.
Winterisation
HighDrain water system, add antifreeze if required, disconnect battery or connect to trickle charger, and prepare for storage.
De-Winterisation & Pre-Season Check
HighReconnect and test all systems before the first trip of the season. Sanitise water system and check all seals.
Important Safety Note
Tasks marked Pro Required must be carried out by a qualified professional — Gas Safe registered engineer for gas work, or an NCC Approved Workshop for habitation checks. Never attempt gas safety work yourself.
